That was completely my fault as no price was listed for beer there and I didn't ask before I ordered. Not only were they smaller than I expected, just 2 of those ended up costing me over $12. I assumed it would be around $4 or $4.50 like other restaurants. I also should have asked the price of that drink (I actually order 2). What I got was a short, maybe 10 oz, plastic cup's worth. Again, they were still okay despite the simplicity. It was a very simple set of tacos for $12. You can also order with chicken instead of shrimp. They contained a flour tortilla, slaw and 3 shrimp. In regards to the food itself, the price was expected to be a little high and, as with most restaurants like that, you don't get a whole lot for your money. Maybe that was just because the seemingly popular outisde was populated a good bit. The food took quite some to finally arrive. I DO NOT feel that the virus pandemic had anything to do with service at this restaurant as there were plenty of servers versus the tables filled. Again, there were enough servers in our area to easily cover the few occupied tables including ours'. Staff moved around like they had a lot going on amd none seemed happy (there was no good vibe about the place). I'm not sure when/if we would have been taken care of had I.not done that. I actually had to ask the hostess in that area, that was maybe 7 or 8 feet directly in front of us and watching us constantly as we sat drinkless for 30 minutes, if anyone was going to take our order. In some restaurants, any server would see someone sitting there and ask if anyone has served them yet. That was only because a server who apparently doesn't cover our area was asked to serve us. We waited about 30 minutes before anyone decided to take our drink order. The area we were seated in had about 4 tables in use when we arrived. The restaurant socially distanced inside, like other restaurants, with every other table available. I hope you have a great week and I look forward to meeting you in the future. My family and I went there on a Thursdau night. Please ask for me and I will make sure your service is top notch and your bill will be on us. Please give us another chance to show you who we really are and that we can make your next visit a great one. Gail, I understand if you never want to step foot in fish Tales again but I would ask you to reconsider. If you could provide me with some information (Sever: Name, gender, day of visit, did you sit inside or outside?) it will help me fix these problems. As far as the credit card situation goes, I can only tell you that we are so much better than that. The water is to warm and thus makes the oysters unsafe for consumption. We use only local oysters for our buckets and my staff knows that we never, nor have ever, had oyster buckets in the summer. For the life of me I can’t figure out why a staff member would tell you we have oyster buckets. We constantly brief our staff on item availabilities, as well as, proper situational decorum. I can assure you that we do not train our staff to treat guest this way and we will not tolerate such gross incompetents to represent Fish Tales. I’m embarrassed beyond words regarding the way one of my staff handled the situation. I want to apologize to you for the poor service. Good afternoon Gail, My name is Will Collins and I’m the GM at Fish Tales. From the oysters, to the service, to the unnecessary embarrassment, It is not a place I that I want to return. The waitress came back and put the receipt in front of me and said that my AMEX had gone through. I told her that she needed to re-run the VISA because there was a problem on their end. The waitress came back and announced that my AMEX was declined. I gave her my AMEX, while she was gone, I called VISA and they told me that there had been no card run from Fish Tales. She came back and announced to the entire restaurant that it was declined. When we finally got the waitress to bring the check, I gave her my VISA. We had to flag down the waitress for drink refills. My daughter had to tell her to change the one order from 1 lb to 2 lbs. (you save about $10) The waitress totally freaked out and said no. My daughter was perusing the menu, then asked if she could just increase the daughter-in-law's crab leg order from1 lb to 2 lbs. We called before we went to find out the price of a bucket of oysters. I can always understand when a restaurant is busy and it takes the server a while, I never understand when the server is just incompetent.
